PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
KAMEN PROTECT is a silicone-water repellent stone and brick basecoat, a colourless preservative basecoat which penetrates well into mineral surfaces, increases their water resistance, and thereby protects them from moisture, rain water and chemical corrosion caused by releasing salting due to rainwater infiltration through an untreated surface. It is produced on the basis of silcone in an organic solvent. Suitable surfaces are all kinds of mineral plasters, mineral facade paint, brick facades, concrete surfaces, natural and artificial stone surfaces, cement slabs. The treated area does not change the original appearance, does not create a film and does not shine. Unsuitable surfaces are those that are very poorly absorbent mineral surfaces such as marble, granite, clinker and wood including plastics, and also all large horizontal surfaces. It is not to be used in thermal insulation containing polystyrene plates.
APPLICATION
The surface must be hard, dry and clean, without weakly bound particles, dust or debris from formwork coatings. KAMEN PROTECT is not to be diluted and is applied by spraying on or with a brush using 2 coats of ‘wet-on-wet’ technique resulting in saturation of the surface. Freshly painted surfaces should be protected from rain for a period of 6 hours because they are not water-repellent until
completely drying. It is recommended to do the work at temperatures between 10 and 25 °C. If used indoors, ventilation is to be provided.
COVERAGE
Average 0,6 l/m2, but very dependent on surface absorption.
